A site devoted to thoughts about books, reading, and libraries relevant to Africa mostly by Michael Kevane, co-Director of Friends of African Village Libraries, a small 501(c)(3) non-profit devoted to helping village and small community libraries in Africa. Thanks to local donors

The expatriate community in Ouagadougou (including especially Beth Jacob, the original Burkinamom)donated several boxes of books for our Ghana libraries. I will take them over tomorrow when I visit Ghana. Here's Tony McGowan, a neighbor in Ouagadougou, with some of the books... Tony and Kirsten are heading off to Bamako... Bon Voyage!

Thanks, guys! You are so sweet! I didn't see this back when you posted it.
I was glad to give our books to such a great cause. I LOVE what you are doing for the villagers and miss you lots.
The goat races were the best!
